Azadeh Nikzadeh is a highly accomplished Middle-Eastern writer, director, producer, and women's rights activist, dedicated to shedding light on the challenges faced by women, particularly in Iran. Her passion lies in using the power of storytelling to raise awareness and foster global solidarity. With a remarkable presence as a speaker, she has shared her insights and experiences at renowned events such as the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women 67th session, the International Religious Freedom Summit for the MENA region in Washington DC, and the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles.

Growing up in Iran amidst war, political turmoil, and social oppression, Azadeh faced significant hurdles as an artist, enduring censorship and persecution. Seeking refuge, she now resides in New York, where she continues her creative pursuits. Her expertise lies in crafting compelling narratives based on true events and characters, amplifying the voices of those marginalized by society. She is particularly drawn to stories centered around social issues, human rights, and women's empowerment.


Azadeh's body of work includes a series of award-winning short films, including "The Girl Sitting Here," "Vida," and "X." Additionally, she has produced impactful feature documentaries such as "Safe Sets," "The Left Bank," and "The Credible Fear." Her exceptional talent has garnered recognition and numerous accolades, including fellowships and awards from esteemed institutions like Stay Indie Lower East Side Film Festival, Empower Women Media Fellowship, Asian Film Academy Fellowship at the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea, Athena Film Festival Writing Lab, and Honorable Mention at the Charlotte Film Festival Social Justice Films category. Notably, her feature script "DANDELION" has received recognition as a Sundance Writing Lab selection and an Austin Film Festival Second Rounder.
